vacancies of this nature have, at

the request of the University

Council, been filled on the

recommendation of the Board of

Education, and the offers of

andointment to the selected candidates

have then issued from the Colonial

office.

Mr. S.H. Wood, the Director

of Snecial Enquiries and Renorts,

who se Department of the Board of

Education is concerned, has now

represented that it would be

preferable if such vacancies were

referred in future, not to the

Board of Education but to the

Universities Bureau of the

British Empire, which he suggests is the

proper organ for making these

Dosts known and for interviewing
